The cold and rainy weather has been affecting the country for days, while it has been announced that temperatures will rise starting from the weekend. Rain is expected in regions such as Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean, while some cities will experience mixed rain and snow.

While an increase in air temperatures is expected across the country starting from the weekend, rainfall is anticipated in regions such as Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean.

Yusuf Ziya Yavuz, a meteorology expert from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, provided an assessment regarding the expected weather conditions for the weekend.

Yavuz stated that rainfall is expected in a large part of the country tomorrow, particularly in the southern and eastern parts of the Marmara Region, the Aegean Region, the Mediterranean Region, the southern and eastern parts of Central Anatolia, the coastal areas of the Western Black Sea, and the surroundings of Artvin, as well as in the west of Eastern Anatolia and the west of Southeastern Anatolia.

TEMPERATURES WILL RISE

Yavuz expressed that mixed rain and snow are expected in the western part of Eastern Anatolia, around Erzincan, Malatya, Tunceli, and Sivas, as well as in the interior parts of Central Black Sea around Tokat and in the surroundings of Adıyaman.

Yavuz reported that air temperatures will rise across the country starting from tomorrow, noting that in the Central Anatolia Region, especially in Ankara, temperatures will exceed 10 degrees, while in the western regions, they will reach 15 degrees.

Emphasizing that no rainfall is expected in a large part of the country on Sunday, Yavuz indicated that light rain is forecasted in the Coastal Aegean, northern Marmara, Thrace, and around Istanbul. He mentioned that southerly winds will be effective in the Coastal Aegean and Western Mediterranean.

WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THREE MAJOR CITIES

Yavuz highlighted that a partly cloudy and very cloudy weather is expected in the capital tomorrow, with light rain occurring in the surroundings of Gölbaşı, Şereflikoçhisar, Bala, and Evren.

Stating that a partly cloudy and slightly cloudy weather will dominate in Ankara on Sunday, Yavuz expressed that fog is expected in the high areas during the morning hours.

Yavuz noted that light showers will be seen in the Asian side of Istanbul tomorrow, while the European side will be partly cloudy, with daytime temperatures expected to be around 12 degrees and nighttime temperatures around 8 degrees.

Yavuz reported that heavy rain is forecasted across Istanbul on Sunday.

In Izmir, Yavuz mentioned that intermittent rainfall is expected throughout the weekend, stating that no heavy rain is anticipated, and temperatures will range between 17 and 19 degrees.
