Greece is experiencing another wildfire disaster. A forest fire that broke out in the Palea Fokia area of the capital, Athens, has spread to residential areas. Messages were sent to the mobile phones of those in the region, requesting the evacuation of some villages.
A forest fire broke out in the Palea Fokia region, southeast of Athens, the capital of Greece.
SPREAD TO RESIDENTIAL AREAS
As the flames spread to residential areas, some houses were damaged. The Sunio road has been completely closed to traffic.
CALL TO EVACUATE VILLAGES
The General Secretariat of Civil Protection of Greece sent messages to the mobile phones of those in the area, requesting the evacuation of some villages.
NO CASUALTIES
While firefighting efforts continue from the air and ground, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries so far.
