In Kilis, rental apartment prices have significantly decreased compared to last year, dropping from 15,000 lira to 7,000 lira. The acceleration of Syrian refugees returning to their country after the end of the school term has contributed to this decline in prices.

Last year, rental apartment prices in Kilis reached levels of 15,000 lira, but this year they have dropped to around 7,000 lira. The return of Syrian refugees to their home countries, especially after the report card period, has had an impact on the decrease in rental prices.

"PRICES HAVE PLUMMETED IN HOUSES WITH STOVES"

Mehmet Kavuşturan, who works in real estate in the city, stated that the decline is limited in some areas, saying, "Of course, there are neighborhoods in Kilis that are very popular. There hasn't been a significant drop in areas like Yeni Beşevler and Kazım Karabekir, which cater to civil servants. However, in some neighborhoods within the city, especially in houses with stoves, prices have plummeted. In fact, some houses cannot even find tenants," he said.

"THERE ARE ALMOST NO RENTAL HOUSES FOR 15,000 LIRA"

Kavuşturan emphasized that the return of Syrian refugees is directly reflected in the rental market, stating, "Last year, we rented houses for 12,000 lira in the city, and this year we are renting them for 10,000 lira, yet we are still struggling to find buyers. Right now, there are almost no rental houses for 15,000 lira in Kilis. It is possible to find houses with natural gas between 8,000 and 10,000 lira," he said.

"THE LOWEST RENT STARTS FROM 2,000 LIRA"

Kavuşturan mentioned that prices are much lower in houses with stoves, saying, "One-room houses with stoves can be rented for between 2,000 and 5,000 lira. Houses with natural gas start from 5,000 to 6,000 lira. The lowest rent starts from 2,000 lira," he said.
