A tragic update has come regarding 13-year-old Sefa Çağlar Glavuz, who went missing while returning from school in the Serik district of Antalya. Glavuz's lifeless body was found in an irrigation canal where he had fallen, and it has been taken to the morgue of a private hospital in Serik.
The body of a child who went missing after falling into an irrigation canal in the Serik district of Antalya has been found.
After not returning home from school, the family of Sefa Çağlar Glavuz (13) applied to the police for help in finding their child, from whom they had not heard for 2 days.
STATEMENTS OF 2 CHILDREN WERE TAKEN
Upon receiving the notification, the teams examined the nearby cameras and took the statements of 2 children deemed to be connected to the incident. It was learned that the children said Sefa, who was riding his bicycle, fell into the irrigation canal in Burmahancı neighborhood and was swept away by the current, disappearing from sight after a while.
THE WATER CANAL WAS SEARCHED THOROUGHLY
The teams found Sefa's bicycle at the location indicated by the children. The underwater search and rescue teams of the Antalya Police Department were also dispatched to the area. Since the area where Glavuz went missing is under the jurisdiction of the Gendarmerie, the investigation continued with Gendarmerie teams. With the decrease in the high water level in the canal, Gendarmerie Underwater Search and Rescue, Police Underwater Search and Rescue, and IHH teams entered the canal to search for Glavuz.
SAD NEWS FROM SEFA
The teams reached Glavuz's lifeless body approximately 1 kilometer away from where his bicycle was found.
The body, taken to the morgue of a private hospital in Serik, will be sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institution after the examination by the public prosecutor.
