Journalist Ahmet Reha Öz, who lived alone in the Didim district of Aydın, was found dead in his home. The cause of Öz's death will be determined after an autopsy is conducted.

Ahmet Reha Öz (79), a journalist in Aydın's Didim district, was found dead in his home where he lived alone, after his relatives were unable to reach him.

The incident occurred during the daytime at Denizli Teachers' Site on 3110 Street in the Mavişehir neighborhood of Didim.

JOURNALIST FOUND DEAD IN HIS HOME

Relatives of journalist Ahmet Reha Öz, who lived alone, reported the situation to the police after they were unable to reach him by phone. Police teams, who entered the house with the help of a locksmith, found Öz lying motionless. The health team confirmed that Öz had passed away.

CAUSE OF DEATH TO BE DETERMINED AFTER AUTOPSY

Öz's body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy. The cause of Öz's death will be determined after the autopsy is conducted. It was learned that Öz settled in Didim after retiring, having worked at Cumhuriyet Newspaper from 1970 to 1985 and then as the news director at Hürriyet Newspaper from 1985 to 2000.

WHO IS REHA ÖZ?

He was born in Istanbul in 1948. After graduating from the Istanbul University Faculty of Economics Journalism Institute (1973), he began working at Cumhuriyet Newspaper. He initially worked in the sports department and later in the intelligence section. In 1975, he received a success award from the Turkish Journalists Association in the Sports Research category for his series titled "Turks in World Wrestling from 1951 to 1974," and in 1978, he received a research award in the same competition for his article "Heavy Workers Called Apprentices." In 1982, he won a success award in the research-investigation category at the Contemporary Journalists Association's Journalist of the Year Competition for his articles "The Abdi İpekçi Murder File" and "Those Who Got Caught." A children's novel titled "The Story of the Book" (1979) was published. He held a Permanent Press Card. He had two children.
