Nine-year-old Yasemin Yıldırım, who went missing in Diyarbakır, was found stabbed to death in a building next to her home. Her 17-year-old female cousin, M.Ç., who was identified as the perpetrator of the murder, was arrested after blood belonging to Yasemin was found under her shoes.
The family living in an apartment in Block A of a site in Kemertaş Neighborhood reported to the police that their daughter Yasemin Yıldırım (10) was missing last night. Following the report, police teams were dispatched to the area, and a search operation was conducted with the citizens.
STABBED TO DEATH
As a result of the efforts, Yasemin's body was found in the fire escape on the 2nd floor of Block B of the site where she lived. In the initial examination conducted by the 112 Emergency Health teams, it was determined that the child, who was believed to have died from stab wounds, was sent to the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institution to determine the exact cause of death.
17-YEAR-OLD COUSIN ARRESTED
As part of the investigation launched regarding the incident, the victim's 17-year-old cousin named M.Ç., who lives in the same building, was taken into custody. During the search of the suspect's home, a knife believed to have been used in the incident, along with six bloody shoes and a bloody wet wipe, was found. M.Ç. was arrested by the judicial authorities on charges of "intentional murder" after police procedures.
Additionally, M.Ç.'s 17-year-old cousin I.Y.T. was also taken into custody regarding the incident. I.Y.T. was released under judicial control measures of "not leaving the residence."
