After the yellow code warning issued by the Meteorology Regional Directorate, heavy rain and wind that affected Antalya took the city by storm. Strong waves were observed along the coast, while lightning created a visual spectacle over the city.
The Meteorology Regional Directorate issued a yellow code warning for Antalya, where heavy rain and wind began to show their effects from the afternoon hours. Due to the rain, the silhouette of the cliffs that merge with the city became invisible. The lightning striking above the city created a visual feast.
The 4th Regional Directorate of Meteorology had issued a 'yellow code' warning regarding the rain and storm expected to be effective from the morning hours today for Antalya and its districts as well as surrounding provinces.
ANTALYA HAS SURRENDERED TO THE RAIN
It was noted that very heavy rain and thunderstorms were expected, along with strong storms at sea, while the rain that started in the city center in the afternoon hours turned into a downpour in the following hours. Due to the water accumulation on the main arteries of the city, drivers had difficulty progressing with their vehicles, and life was negatively affected.
LIGHTNING STRIKING ABOVE THE CITY CREATED A VISUAL FEAST
In the Konyaaltı region, strong waves were observed on the beach. Due to the heavy rain, the silhouette of the city, which merges with the cliffs when viewed from the Konyaaltı region, became invisible.
The palm trees along the coast began to bend due to the wind, and pieces that broke off from the palm trees caused difficult moments for drivers. Above the city, dozens of lightning bolts were seen striking. The lightning created a visual feast.
After the rain lost its intensity, some citizens came to Konyaaltı Beach to take photos.
