In Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, a 25-year-old named Muhammet Gürcan Koçak, who was checking a malfunctioning UTV vehicle while stopped in the emergency lane, was struck by a light commercial vehicle. Koçak lost his life in the accident, while the driver fled the scene. This incident brought to mind the case of Timur Cihantimur, who was abducted to the USA by his mother Eylem Tok after the death of Oğuz Murat Aci, who was also killed in the same area.

The accident occurred on February 22 at around 02:00 on the Kemerburgaz road. Allegedly, Muhammet Gürcan Koçak stopped on the emergency lane when the UTV vehicle malfunctioned while he was driving. While he was trying to repair the UTV, a light commercial vehicle, whose driver's name is unknown, hit Muhammet Gürcan Koçak. As a result of the impact, Koçak was thrown into the forest by the roadside.

In the accident, Muhammet Gürcan Koçak was seriously injured, while the driver fled. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification of the surrounding people. Koçak, who was taken to the hospital by ambulance, could not be saved despite all interventions. After the funeral ceremony held on Saturday, February 22, Koçak was buried in Yeniköy Cemetery.
