University students hitchhiking in Gümüşhane started chatting with the driver of the vehicle by addressing him as "Uncle." The students were shocked when they later learned that the driver was Prof. Dr. Oktay Yıldız, the rector of their university. The student, who was at a loss for what to do, called Yıldız "Uncle rector," which sent everyone in the vehicle into fits of laughter.
University students studying in Gümüşhane hitchhiked to get to their dormitories. The students got into the car that stopped to help them. Unaware that the driver of the car was the Rector of Gümüşhane University, Prof. Dr. Oktay Yıldız, the students chatted with the rector, addressing him as "Uncle."

Prof. Dr. Oktay Yıldız, who asked the students questions about their department, city, and satisfaction with the university, finally asked if they knew the new rector of the university. Kadir, a first-year Computer Programming student from Diyarbakır sitting in the front seat of the vehicle, said he did not know the rector, to which Prof. Dr. Oktay Yıldız replied that he was the new rector of Gümüşhane University.

The student, who was very surprised by this answer, excitedly addressed the rector, whom he had referred to as "Uncle" throughout the journey, saying "Uncle, my rector," which caused everyone in the vehicle to burst into laughter.
