In the Anamur district of Mersin, forest and garden fires broke out in three separate areas and were extinguished with the intervention of forest teams. An investigation has been initiated regarding the fires, which caused damage to a total of 14 acres of land.
Forest and garden fires that broke out in three separate areas of Anamur district in Mersin were extinguished with the intervention of forest teams. A total of 14 decares of land were damaged, including 11 decares of forest and 3 decares of garden.
A forest fire broke out at three different points in Anamur district of Mersin. The first fire started in Kızılaliler Neighborhood. Local residents who noticed the fire reported the situation to the Anamur Forest Management Directorate.
11 DECARES OF LAND DAMAGED
Upon the notification, 18 vehicles, including 5 water tankers, 2 fire trucks, and a team of 50 people, including forest workers, were dispatched to the area.
Despite the strong winds in some areas, the teams intervened in the flames from many points. The fire, which was brought under control and extinguished after approximately 3 hours of struggle, caused damage to 11 decares of forested area.
TWO MORE FIRES BROKE OUT
The second fire broke out within the borders of Gercebahşiş Yeni Neighborhood. Upon noticing the fire that started in a garden, 1 water tanker, 1 fire team, and a personnel of 10 were dispatched to the area. Thanks to the timely intervention of the teams, the fire was extinguished, causing damage to 2 decares of garden.
After the extinguishing of both fires, flames rose from a garden within the borders of Çataloluk Neighborhood in the evening hours. With the intervention of a team of 10 dispatched to the area with one water tanker and two vehicles, the fire was brought under control before it could grow. The fire caused damage to 1 decare of garden.
