"HE PUBLISHED MY IMAGES WITHOUT PERMISSION"
A patient named A.U., who underwent aesthetic surgery by Dr. Bülent Cihantimur, claimed that images of her body were published on the internet and on the TLC TV channel without her consent, and she filed a complaint against Cihantimur. A.U. stated that her personal data was disclosed without permission and that her personal rights were violated.
BÜLENT CİHANTİMUR DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS
Bülent Cihantimur, who claimed that the recordings related to the surgery were made with the patient's consent, presented a document titled "Waiver" in his defense, stating that the patient had given permission for the publications.
The Honorary Board of the Istanbul Medical Chamber stated that the obligation of physicians to maintain confidentiality cannot be lifted unless there is a legal obligation, ruling that personal contracts made with the patient cannot invalidate this obligation.
SUSPENDED FROM MEDICINE FOR 1 MONTH
The failure of Cihantimur to fulfill his professional responsibility was evaluated due to the unsuccessful results of the patient's applications to have her images removed. The Honorary Board decided to suspend Dr. Bülent Cihantimur from his profession for one month.
