Two assistant doctors have been detained at Selçuk University Medical Faculty Hospital in Konya for allegedly engaging in obscene correspondence regarding the physical characteristics and clothing of female patients. It was notable that the doctors concealed their faces with surgical masks while being taken into custody.

In Konya, the WhatsApp group of assistant doctors working in the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Selçuk University Medical Faculty Hospital has drawn public outrage on social media due to obscene discussions regarding the physical characteristics and clothing of female patients. Following the emergence of these discussions, the Ministry of Health and the Selçuk University Rectorate initiated an investigation. As part of the investigation, two assistant doctors alleged to have conducted the discussions were suspended from their duties. In a written statement regarding the matter, Selçuk University stated, "An investigation has been initiated regarding the discussions claimed to belong to some healthcare workers at our Medical Faculty Hospital, which were shared on social media, and the personnel in question have been suspended from their duties."

PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE INITIATED AN INVESTIGATION

The Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has also initiated an investigation against research assistants S.Ö. and O.T., who are working as assistant doctors, for the crimes of "violating the privacy of private life and unlawfully sharing personal data."

2 ASSISTANT DOCTORS IN CUSTODY

As part of the investigation, doctor S.Ö. was taken into custody during the night hours. Research assistant O.T. was also captured by the teams of the Public Security Branch of the Provincial Police Department. Doctors S.Ö. and O.T., who were taken into custody for the crimes of "violating the privacy of private life and unlawfully sharing personal data," were brought to Konya Training and Research Hospital for a health check after their procedures at the police station. The two doctors, trying to cover their faces with hygiene masks, were sent to the courthouse after the health check.
