A scammer trying to defraud a university student in Burdur, realizing he couldn't deceive the young girl, offered her, "Let's make you a lawyer." When the young girl understood that all her personal information was in the scammer's hands, she was at a loss for what to do.

Recently, Elif Manış (22), a university student in Burdur, received a message indicating that there was a lawsuit file against her. Upon receiving this message, Manış logged into her E-Government account to check if there was a lawsuit opened in her name. Later realizing that the message was sent by scammers, Manış wanted to call the number mentioned in the message to inquire about the situation.

WHEN THEY COULDN'T SCAM, THEY WANTED TO MEET

Initially, when the scammers tried to convince the young girl but realized they couldn't, instead of hanging up, they started chatting. The scammers offered Manış, saying, 'We can make you a lawyer too,' and later expressed that they wanted to meet the young girl. Capturing these moments, Elif Manış shared the incident on her social media account.

"WE KNEW THEY WERE TRYING TO SCAM US, SO WE DECIDED TO SCAM THEM"

Elif Manış, who stated that she had received similar messages before, said, "The content of the message said that I had a settlement lawsuit. To avoid any legal action, I was supposed to contact that number. I had received such messages before, but since I couldn't record it, I wanted to document it this time. I called this number, and initially, a woman answered. She spoke quite well. She had the power to convince me; her speech was like that of a real lawyer. At that moment, she tried to guide us, but she couldn't, and we hung up the phone. We called back because we were aware that they were scammers. This time, a man answered the phone. He tried to guide us, giving a website address. He said we would log in to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance from there and that we needed to query the file using E-Government. Later, we decided to play along with this person because we were aware that they were trying to scam us. We thought we would scam them. Then, it seemed like he noticed us; he asked where we lived. But he already had all my identity information. He recited my Turkish ID number from start to finish. He listed the address of the house I live in, as well as the names of my mother, father, and sibling. This situation was really disturbing. He was explaining and speaking boldly. He also said that they found this information from a panel. I can't make sense of what kind of panel it is. I wanted to document this situation. Later, I wanted to share it because I wanted citizens to be careful," she said.

"IF YOU WANT, I CAN MAKE YOU A LAWYER TOO"

In the recorded phone conversation, Manış stated that the person on the other end was initially very serious, saying, "In fact, we tried to play a role against the scammers. At that moment, there was a sound like laughter. It was as if he was mocking us. When we later expressed that he was a scammer, he started making different offers to us. He said, 'If you want, I can make you a lawyer too, let's meet, you seem like a very smart person.' He started to turn the topic a bit into phone harassment. In response to this situation, we experienced great astonishment with my friends," she expressed.
