RESIGNATION LETTER SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Mubarak shared his resignation letter addressed to Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the President of the Yemeni Presidential Council, on his social media account. In the resignation letter, Mubarak stated that he has faced "many challenges," including his inability to reshape the government.
According to government sources speaking to Reuters, Mubarak had a disagreement with Rashad Al-Alimi, the President of the Yemeni Presidential Council, regarding his powers. Alimi rejected Mubarak's request to dismiss 12 ministers in the government.
FORMER FINANCE MINISTER APPOINTED IN HIS PLACE
The Yemeni Presidency announced that Salem Saleh Bin Braikas, who previously served as the finance minister in the cabinet, has been appointed as the new prime minister.
