The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced the approval of a new loan of $1.4 billion to Pakistan under the climate resilience fund framework. Additionally, the first review of the existing program has been completed, and approximately $1 billion in cash has been released.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Board of Directors approved a new loan of 1.4 billion dollars to Pakistan under the climate resilience fund. It was also noted that the first review of the existing program worth 7 billion dollars was completed, and approval was given for the release of approximately 1 billion dollars in cash tranche.
STATEMENT FROM IMF
In a statement made by the IMF, it was stated that "Pakistan's policy steps under the program have made significant progress in ensuring economic stability and restoring confidence despite global challenges."
PAYMENT AMOUNT IS 2 BILLION DOLLARS
With the completion of the review in question, the total payment amount under the program has risen to 2 billion dollars. On the other hand, no payment has yet been made from the approved loan under the climate resilience fund.
