Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced that on the first day of the Deposit Management System implemented in 81 provinces, 649,244 people used the DOA application and 1,547,850 beverage packages were returned. A 1-lira incentive payment is made to citizens for each returned package, and it was stated that the collected packages will be reintroduced into the economy through recycling.

Coordinated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Deposit Management System (DMS), implemented by the Turkish Environment Agency (TÜÇA) in 81 provinces as of July 1, attracted great interest from the first day.

Within the scope of the system, citizens began to receive an incentive payment of 1 lira for each packaging by returning DMS-labeled glass, PET and aluminum beverage containers.

MINISTER KURUM ANNOUNCED FIRST DAY DATA

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum shared the data regarding the first day of the system with the public in a post on his social media account.

Kurum stated, "You threw it, nature won. Our nation loved DMS very much. With the Deposit Management System, we reached 649 thousand users from the first day; we collected 1.5 million packages with DMS machines. Each collected package will be recovered through recycling and will contribute to a cleaner future."

According to the Deposit Management System data, the number of users who downloaded the DMS digital application on July 1 reached 649 thousand 244.

On the same day, a total of 1 million 547 thousand 850 beverage packages consisting of DMS-labeled glass, PET and aluminum were collected through deposit return machines.

It is aimed to contribute to reducing environmental pollution by recycling the collected packages and bringing them back into the economy.
