In ŞANLIURFA, Bedirhan P. (10), who has Down syndrome, fell into an irrigation canal belonging to the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) that passes near their home and died in the hospital where he was taken.
HE LOST HIS BALANCE NEAR HIS HOME
The incident occurred in Göktepe Neighborhood of Haliliye district. Bedirhan P., who has Down syndrome, lost his balance while walking near their home and fell into the irrigation canal. Those nearby who saw the little child thrashing in the water reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. While teams were dispatched upon the report, citizens pulled the child out of the water with their own means.
HE LOST HIS FIGHT FOR LIFE IN INTENSIVE CARE
After the intervention, Bedirhan P. was taken by ambulance to Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital, and from there he was transferred to Harran University Hospital. Bedirhan P., who was placed under treatment in the intensive care unit, died.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
