11 FARMERS KILLED IN ATTACK
According to reports in the national press, armed gang members attacked people working in fields in the Rabah area of Sokoto state. 11 farmers were killed and 5 farmers were injured in the attack.
Sokoto Police spokesman Ahmed Rufai confirmed the attack and stated that security forces had been dispatched to the area.
Nigeria has long been battling attacks by armed gangs as well as the terrorist groups Boko Haram and ISWAP, the West Africa branch of ISIS, in various parts of the country.
