Despite the ongoing large-scale search efforts for 11-month-old baby Büşra, who disappeared 57 days ago in the rural area of the Divriği district of Sivas, no trace has been found.
On September 10, 2026, search efforts were launched after a report that the 11-month-old baby of a family engaged in animal husbandry in the rural area of Göndüren village in Divriği district had disappeared. To find the baby, AFAD, gendarmerie, and other teams carried out a large-scale search in the rural area. As the efforts continued, in the investigation conducted by the Divriği Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, based on the suspicious statements given, 6 people, including mother E.B. and father Y.B. (41), were arrested and sent to prison.
MOTHER CHANGED HER STATEMENT AND ACCUSED THE FATHER
The first statement given by family members to law enforcement was that the baby might have been taken by wild animals. Mother E.B. later changed her statement and claimed that father Y.B. killed the baby. In prison, the mother again accused the father, this time alleging that the father sold the baby. Upon this claim, M.K., who was thought to have bought the baby in Diyarbakır, was taken into custody; after his statement, M.K. was released after being assessed as innocent.
EYES ON THE FORENSIC MEDICINE REPORT
On the first day of the search efforts, a T-shirt, a onesie, and a baby diaper, believed to belong to the baby, were found about 3 kilometers away from the tent where Büşra and her family were staying. The findings were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution to determine whether they belonged to Büşra and whether there was blood or any other evidence on them that would affect the investigation. Results are awaited to clarify the suspicions in the investigation.
SEARCH CONTINUES WITH DOGS AND DRONES
While results are awaited from the Forensic Medicine Institution, AFAD and gendarmerie teams are intensively continuing search efforts in the rural area on the 57th day. In the efforts, in which dogs and drones are also used, no trace has been found despite approximately 2 months having passed.
