In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP, which was annulled by a 'absolute nullity' decision, 13 people were detained in 7 provinces. It was stated that the charges are 'violation of the Political Parties Law', 'receiving bribes', and 'laundering assets derived from crime'.

The first operation was carried out in the CHP following the absolute nullity decision that brought Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu back to the General Chairmanship.

In the investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a operation was carried out by teams from the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch Directorate.

13 SUSPECTS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

Within the scope of the investigation, 13 suspects were taken into custody, and it was stated that the suspects are considered to have committed the crimes of "violating the Political Parties Law", "bribery", and "laundering of assets derived from crime".

As part of the operation, simultaneous raids were conducted at addresses determined in Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Şanlıurfa, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, and Malatya.

Searches and seizures were carried out at the addresses. It was learned that the investigation is ongoing.

The statement from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the investigation is as follows:

“Within the scope of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding allegations of interference aimed at influencing the voting will of delegates at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party; as a result of the work carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch Directorate, 13 suspects, considered to have committed the crimes of violating the Political Parties Law, receiving bribes, and laundering assets derived from crime, have been taken into custody, and searches and seizures have been carried out at the addresses of the suspects located in the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Şanlıurfa, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, and Malatya.”
