FLAMES QUICKLY ENGULFED THE BUILDING
A fire broke out on the exterior facade of the 13-story plaza located on Laleş Boulevard, Talaytepe Neighborhood, Kayapınar district, on August 23. The fire, which grew rapidly, spread from the exterior facade to the upper floors, some apartments, and the roof.
60 PERSONNEL WERE MOBILIZED
Upon the notification, fire department, AFAD, and police teams were dispatched to the area. The fire was intervened with 3 ladder trucks, 7 water tankers, and 60 personnel. The Social Events Response Vehicle (TOMA) belonging to the Provincial Police Department also supported the extinguishing efforts with pressurized water.
5 PEOPLE, INCLUDING 3 FIREFIGHTERS, WERE AFFECTED
In the fire, 5 people, 3 of whom were firefighters, were affected by smoke. The 5 people, who were taken to the hospital after the intervention of health teams, were discharged after their treatment.
SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE EMERGED
While an investigation was initiated regarding the fire, security camera footage from the building and its surroundings was examined. In the examination, it was seen that hookah embers thrown from an apartment on the 3rd floor to the ground ignited cardboard boxes on the ground, and then the fire broke out.
