Aydınspor Club, which once successfully represented the Aegean region in the Süper Lig, is now seeking its long-undetermined club president through a job posting on social media. The posting, which remained live for 36 hours, received 1,391 applications.
Fans of Aydınspor, who have suffered the sorrow of relegation to amateur leagues for years and have been disappointed by wrong strategic decisions, have taken action against the adversities experienced since 2009.
THEY ARE ADVERTISING TO FIND A PRESIDENT Fans deeply devoted to Aydınspor aim to revitalize support for the club and contribute to Aydın's development in sports, while hoping that the club, left without an owner, can rise again and return to its former glory. In this context, the black-and-white fans took action and posted a job advertisement on a job search website for the club presidency. Reacting to the club being left without an owner with the job ad titled "Aydınspor Seeking Club President," Aydınspor fans drew attention to the current situation and called on the public to find a presidential candidate who can take ownership of the club's future.
In the description of the job posting, the following statements were included: "This is not a job ad. It is definitely not a title ad. This is a call to protect a city's memory, emblem, and stands. Aydınspor today is not just looking for a new president. It is looking for a strong will that will lift the club back up, not shy away from responsibility, and build a bridge between Aydınspor's past and future. This emblem, which has lived in the stands for years and been passed down from generation to generation, deserves struggle, not abandonment. We are not offering an easy task. We are not offering a ready-made system either. But we are offering the opportunity to rebuild an Aydınspor that a city can stand behind, where the stands can fill again, and where children can proudly wear the jersey. The presidential seat may be empty, but that emblem is still there."
MANY APPLICATIONS IN A SHORT TIME The number of applications to the ad, which drew attention nationwide and stayed active for 36 hours, was remarkable. After intense interest, the ad was closed for applications, with 1,391 people applying for the "President Wanted" ad and 18,274 people viewing it.
