279 of the 322 suspects detained in a drug operation organized across 23 provinces centered on Diyarbakır were arrested. In the operation involving 2,670 personnel, 27 people were released under judicial control.

In a drug operation organized in 23 provinces centered on Diyarbakır, 279 of the 322 suspects detained were arrested. Under the coordination of the Anti-Narcotics Department and the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, as a result of technical, physical, and analytical studies lasting approximately 4 months, the organizational structures, connections, and criminal activities of suspects identified as engaging in drug trafficking in neighborhoods and streets were uncovered.

322 SUSPECTS DETAINED

On May 14, simultaneous operations were conducted at 302 separate addresses in 23 provinces, including Ankara, Antalya, Izmir, and Bursa, centered on Diyarbakır. In the operation carried out by 2,670 personnel, 322 suspects were detained. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were sent to the courthouse; 279 of them were arrested and sent to prison. 27 were released under judicial control, and the others were released.

"WE ARE DETERMINED NOT TO LET DRUG TRAFFICKERS OPERATE"

Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, in a statement on his X account regarding the issue, said, "Within the scope of our fight against drugs that darken the future of our youth, we conducted a comprehensive operation on May 14. Of the 322 suspects detained in the operation, 279 were arrested, 27 were placed under judicial control, and 16 were released. We are determined not to let drug traffickers operate in Diyarbakır."
