English team Chelsea has announced that they have reached a 4-year agreement with Xabi Alonso for the head coach position.

Chelsea, which has been going through tough days in the Premier League, has officially announced its new head coach.

XABI ALONSO ERA AT CHELSEA

After dropping to 9th place due to poor results in recent weeks in the English Premier League, Chelsea has brought in Xabi Alonso for the role next season, following a managerial change. Liam Rosenior, who replaced Enzo Maresca in January, parted ways with the club after just 3 months. The Blues will complete the 2025-2026 season with interim head coach Calum McFarlane.

4-YEAR DEAL

The London club announced that they have reached a 4-year agreement with Spanish manager Xabi Alonso, who most recently worked at Real Madrid. Alonso will officially begin on July 1st after signing the contract at Stamford Bridge.

MANAGERIAL CAREER

Xabi Alonso, who started his managerial career at Real Madrid's youth academy, went on to coach Sociedad B and Bayer Leverkusen respectively. Spending 3 seasons as head coach of the German side, Alonso won the Bundesliga championship in the 2023-2024 season, as well as the DFB-Pokal and the DFL-Supercup once each.
