His hands and top were covered in blood! Veterinarian couple laid to rest in Konya family massacre

In a park in Konya, law student Cihan Dinçer, found with blood on his hands and body, stabbed his mother and father to death, and they were laid to rest in a funeral ceremony. An autopsy revealed numerous stab wounds on the bodies of the veterinary couple. Dinçer, who was claimed to have psychological issues, reportedly exercised his right to remain silent while in police custody.

Yesterday around 1:00 PM in Havzan Neighborhood, Meram district of Konya, residents who saw a person with blood on his clothes and hands lying in a park notified the police. Upon arrival, police encountered Cihan Dinçer (22), whose clothes and hands were bloody, with a minor cut wound on his hand. Dinçer told police that he had killed his mother and father.

COUPLE FOUND DEAD AT HOME

Following Dinçer's statement, police went to their home on Benekli Street, and when no one answered the door, they called the fire department. Entering with the help of fire crews, police found the couple Nazife Çiğdem (56) and Gökhan Dinçer (57), veterinarians working at the Konya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, stabbed to death. Their bodies were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy. Cihan Dinçer was taken into custody.

EXERCISED RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT

It was reported that Cihan Dinçer, alleged to have psychological issues and to be on medication, exercised his right to remain silent while in police custody. After police procedures, Dinçer was referred to the courthouse. It was noted that Cihan Dinçer, one of three siblings, was the youngest member of the family.

Autopsies revealed numerous stab wounds on the bodies of Nazife Çiğdem and Gökhan Dinçer. Their funeral was brought to Kurtuluş Cemetery this afternoon.

The funeral was attended by Konya Governor İbrahim Akın, Provincial Police Chief Necmettin Koç, the family of the veterinarian couple, their relatives, colleagues, and citizens. After the funeral prayer, the Dinçer couple was laid to rest.
