The Social Security Institution (SGK) has made a change in the Health Application Communiqué, increasing the co-payments to be applied by 30%. The new regulation will come into effect on January 1, 2026. The co-payment for doctor and dentist consultations in state hospitals, training and research hospitals, and university hospitals has been set at 26 TL, while the co-payment for consultations in private healthcare institutions has been set at 60 TL. The co-payments for prescriptions have also been increased.
The Social Security Institution (SGK) has increased the participation fees for physician and dentist examinations by 30% with a change in the Health Implementation Communiqué. The regulation published in the Official Gazette dated December 31, 2025, will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
PARTICIPATION FEES IN HOSPITALS HAVE INCREASED
According to the new regulation:
- No participation fee will be charged for examinations conducted at primary healthcare providers (family health centers).
- The participation fee for physician and dentist examinations at state hospitals, training and research hospitals, and university hospitals has been set at 26 TL.
- The participation fee for examinations at second and third level private healthcare institutions has become 60 TL.
- The practice of having a 50% discount on participation fees for referrals from family physicians will continue.
PARTICIPATION FEES FOR PRESCRIPTIONS HAVE ALSO INCREASED
Participation fees for prescriptions have also been increased:
- For up to 3 boxes (including 3 boxes) of medications, the fee is 3.76 TL
- For each additional box exceeding 3 boxes, the fee is 1.25 TL
- Injectable medications, serums, nutritional products, and magistrals will be evaluated at 1.25 TL for each item.
With the communiqué published by the Social Security Institution (SGK) on January 25, 2025, participation fees for examinations were increased by rates ranging from 233.3% to 542.8%. Following the reactions, a new communiqué was published on February 23, 2025, revising the participation fees for examinations and reducing them from 45 TL to 20 TL.
