In the "change vehicle" operation organized in 12 provinces centered in Konya, 37 vehicles were seized and 32 suspects were detained. Within the scope of the "Vehicle Trap" operation conducted by the Konya Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate Auto Theft Bureau Office, it was determined that chassis and engine information from vehicles that had sustained severe damage due to earthquakes, traffic accidents, and fires, making them irreparable, were transferred to stolen, wanted, seized, foreclosed, and smuggled vehicles through a "change" process, and the vehicles created in this way were sold to third parties for illegal gain.
37 VEHICLES EXAMINED
Within the scope of the operation coordinated by the Department of Public Order and the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and carried out by the Public Order Branch Directorate Auto Theft and Technical Monitoring and Surveillance Bureau Offices, examinations conducted on 37 vehicles, 21 in Konya and 16 outside the province, determined that they were "changed."
SUSPECTS' PROCEDURES AT THE POLICE CONTINUE
Within the scope of the operation, a total of 37 vehicles were seized: 21 in Konya, 3 in Istanbul, 2 each in Diyarbakır, Kayseri, and Antalya, and 1 each in Ankara, Sakarya, Amasya, Hatay, Malatya, Şırnak, and Samsun.
It was determined that the market value of the seized vehicles is approximately 75 million lira, and money transfers amounting to approximately 25 million lira, considered to originate from the crime, were made among the suspects.
50 TEAMS AND 150 PERSONNEL PARTICIPATED IN THE OPERATION
In the operation involving 50 teams and 150 personnel, 32 suspects were detained, and searches were conducted at 15 residences and 7 workplaces belonging to the suspects.
During the searches, numerous vehicle sales contracts, powers of attorney, license plates and vehicle registrations without registration records, and 1 hunting rifle were seized. The suspects' procedures at the police continue.
