In Gaziantep, 5 suspects accused of abducting and sexually abusing S.P., a 24-year-old hearing and speech impaired individual, were arrested on charges of 'aggravated sexual abuse' and 'deprivation of liberty.' While forensic examination revealed evidence of abuse, some of the suspects confessed to the crime in their statements.
Five suspects, detained in Gaziantep on allegations of sexual abuse of a young hearing and speech impaired girl, were arrested by the judicial authorities they were referred to on charges of 'aggravated sexual abuse' and 'deprivation of liberty'.
THEY FORCIBLY PUT HER IN A VEHICLE AND ABDUCTED HER
The incident occurred the previous day in the Cengiz Topel neighborhood of the Şahinbey district. According to the allegations, S.P. (24), who is hearing and speech impaired, was abducted by a person she got into a vehicle with and taken to an unknown address. It was claimed that at the address she was taken to, the young girl was sexually abused by individuals identified as M.T. (28), S.B. (26), M.Ş.E. (24), and F.R. (17), who were allegedly a painter, a plumber, a barber, and a barber's apprentice. The young girl, later released, told her family what had happened.
CITIZENS WHO HEARD THE INCIDENT RUSHED TO THE POLICE STATION
Upon the report, police teams launched an investigation and took the 5 individuals allegedly involved in the incident into custody. While the suspects were being taken to the police station, the young girl's family and hundreds of citizens who had gathered in front of the station reacted to the events. The citizens demanded that the suspects receive the harshest punishment.
EVIDENCE OF ABUSE FOUND IN MEDICAL EXAMINATION
It was determined that findings of sexual abuse were found during the medical examinations conducted on the young girl. It was learned that some of the suspects confessed to their crimes in their statements, while others stated that they had not committed any abuse.
5 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
After the legal procedures were completed, the 5 suspects, M.T. (28), S.B. (26), M.Ş.E. (24), S.Ç.Ç. (17), and F.R. (17), who were referred to the judicial authorities, were arrested by the duty judge on charges of 'aggravated sexual abuse' and sent to prison.
It was learned that a large-scale investigation into the matter is ongoing.
