685 people have resigned from the CHP in Diyarbakır.

In Diyarbakır, some CHP members, including provincial administrators and district heads, have resigned from their party. Speaking on behalf of those who resigned, CHP official Recep Yavuz said, "In Diyarbakır, 685 of our party members have clearly declared their resignations by turning in their CHP membership ID cards. This will from the field has rendered your desk-based number games and denialist approach futile."

Following the statement of CHP Group Chair Özgür Özel regarding a "new party," 685 people, including the Diyarbakır provincial administration dismissed by the CHP Central Executive Committee (MYK) decision on June 30, along with the district chairs of Bağlar, Çermik, Çüngüş, and Çınar, resigned from the CHP.

At a press conference held at the CHP Bağlar District Headquarters regarding the resignations, the statement was made by CHP Provincial Administrator Recep Yavuz.

Noting that Turkey is going through a historic turning point, that the limit of patience has been exceeded at this point, and that a principled crossroads is inevitable, Yavuz said, "The CHP is a republican plane tree founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, a public asset. However, today, the party leadership, along with the Central Executive Committee members, have completely turned a deaf ear to the voice of the organization, imposing a tutelary mentality that disregards the will of the people and the grassroots."

"NO ONE CAN USE THE EFFORT OF THE ORGANIZATION AS A PROP FOR THEIR SEAT OBSESSION"

Recep Yavuz, arguing that the CHP Headquarters is disconnected from the field, stated the following:

"This mentality, which avoids producing sincere, courageous, and lasting solutions to the Kurdish issue, the most vital problem of the region and the country, and ignores the people's demands for democratic participation and the voice of civil society, has completely removed the party from being a hope for the region's people and grassroots. This MYK mentality, stuck in the corridors of Headquarters and disconnected from the realities of the field and local areas, has made the party a captive of a narrow vision and seat calculations. We do not accept this impositional attitude that ignores the sweat of the organizations, tries to suppress local dynamics with anti-democratic decisions, and stifles the people's demand for change. No one can use the effort of the organization as a prop for their seat obsession."

The most concrete response to the Headquarters management's unrealistic and desk-bound statements, clinging to the claim that 'the rate of those resigning doesn't even reach 10 percent' while underestimating this major rupture in the field, has been given by the organization itself.

"THIS IS ANNOUNCED TO THOSE TRYING TO SWEEP RESIGNATIONS UNDER THE RUG"

This is announced to those trying to sweep the resignations under the rug: just today, in Diyarbakır, 685 of our party members have clearly declared their resignations by handing over their CHP membership ID cards. This will in the field has nullified your desk-based number games and denialist approach.

From here, we openly call out to Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the MYK members sitting comfortably in their seats in Ankara: be proud of your work. The devoted party workers who have tirelessly carried the party day and night, rain or shine, leaving no spot untouched in the field, are resigning one by one. By ignoring the organization, you have gradually dismantled the party and exhausted all hopes. That is why, to the Chairman obsessed with applying henna and the MYK members, we are sending a package of henna by cargo today; sit down, look at your work, and apply henna! We will be neither accomplices nor spectators to this massacre, this incompetence, and this disrespect for labor. We refuse to share the common sin of this degenerate administrative mentality that disregards civil society, democratic participation, and local will."
