The resurgence of Brent oil prices in global markets continues to reflect as increases on domestic fuel price boards. With the 7th hike in the last 15 days, the price per liter of gasoline has approached the 70 lira mark in some provinces.
During the period when a ceasefire was achieved in the conflicts between the US and Iran, Brent oil fell to $70, but as tensions in the region rose again, it exceeded the $90 band. This rapid fluctuation in global markets caused fuel prices in Turkey to increase consecutively.
PRICE INCREASE CALENDAR OF THE LAST 15 DAYS
The volatility in fuel prices in July reached remarkable levels. As of July 23, with the latest increase of 1 lira 23 kuruş on gasoline, fuel prices have increased 7 times in the last 16 days.
DIESEL INCREASE
July 7 - An increase of 1 lira 31 kuruş per liter was reflected.
DIESEL INCREASE
July 10 - A second increase of 3 lira 8 kuruş per liter was reflected.
GASOLINE INCREASE
July 15 - The price of gasoline per liter increased by 1 lira 60 kuruş.
DOUBLE INCREASE
July 17 - Diesel increased by 3 lira 90 kuruş, and gasoline by 1 lira.
DIESEL INCREASE
July 21 - A new increase of 1 lira 12 kuruş per liter was made.
GASOLINE INCREASE
July 23 - The price of gasoline per liter increased by another 1 lira 23 kuruş.

HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?
In Turkey, when determining gasoline and diesel prices, the refinery sales price excluding VAT is found by adding the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) and the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) share to the duty-free refinery price. The duty-free refinery price is calculated by following the daily product prices published in the Mediterranean-Italian market and the current dollar exchange rate.
