AFAD announced that the earthquake, which occurred at 18:11, took place at a depth of 11.58 kilometers. Citizens experienced a brief panic due to the earthquake, but no negative situations were recorded.
STATEMENT FROM AFAD
In a statement, AFAD indicated that no negative situation was recorded during the earthquake. The statement included the following: "As of now, there is no negative situation following the 4.5 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 18:11 in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir. Field scanning activities are ongoing. We wish a speedy recovery to our affected citizens."
