In the Akören district of Konya, 32-year-old Murat Altınboğa shot and killed his 30-year-old wife, Melek Altınboğa, whom he had married 4 months earlier, with a hunting rifle during an argument. Melek Altınboğa, a mother of one child, died at the scene. Murat Altınboğa then attempted suicide with the same weapon and was taken to hospital in a seriously injured condition. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The argument that broke out between a couple in Akören, who were only in the 4th month of their marriage, ended in bloodshed. The young woman, who was shot by her husband with a hunting rifle, could not be saved.
THE ARGUMENT ENDED IN MURDER
In Avdan Neighborhood yesterday around 20:00, an argument broke out in their home between Murat Altınboğa, who works as a farmer, and his wife Melek Altınboğa, a mother of 1 child, whom he had married 4 months earlier. As the argument escalated, Murat Altınboğa fired at his wife with a hunting rifle. Melek Altınboğa died at the scene.
Murat Altınboğa then attempted suicide with the same weapon.
THE SUSPECT WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
Upon reports from those nearby, medical teams were dispatched to the house. The injured Altınboğa was taken to the hospital by ambulance and placed under treatment. Melek Altınboğa's body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy.
