The tradition of gathering for Eid greetings, which has been ongoing for 60 years in the rural Cerrah neighborhood of Bursa's İnegöl district, remained unbroken this holiday as well.

Residents of Cerrah neighborhood, with a population of 13,000, come together collectively for religious holidays to exchange greetings. Alongside men, women and children also participate in this traditional event. After the Eid prayer, over a thousand people lined up and greeted each other. The greeting queue, stretching over 1 kilometer, was captured by a drone.

"WE ARE AIMING FOR 2 KILOMETERS NEXT YEAR"

Cerrah neighborhood headman Hasan Ayar said, "We wake up on the morning of Eid, perform our ablutions, and go to the mosque. After the Eid prayer, we visit our cemetery. Following another prayer, we line up in a single row for greetings. The 60-year-old tradition of Eid greetings in our Cerrah neighborhood continues. God willing, it will continue from now on. We complete the greetings all at once here. Then some go for the sacrifice. Others travel out of town. Our neighborhood has about 13,000 people. The single-row greeting queue exceeded 1,200 meters. That was a record for us. We are aiming for 2 kilometers next year."
