In a tragic incident in Byron, Wyoming, United States, 7-year-old Olivia Blackmer, who was shot in the head by her mother, lost her battle for life after days of struggle.

Olivia was the only survivor of the attack carried out by 32-year-old Tranyelle Harshman on February 10. After killing 9-year-old Brailey and 2-year-old twins Brooke and Jordan, Harshman turned the gun on herself.

Olivia's stepmother, Katelynn Blackmer, stated, "She fought very, very hard until the last moment. Her body and brain had suffered too much trauma. The medications helped, but when the medical options ran out, her body continued to deteriorate. She fought until her heart stopped."

Olivia's father, Quinn, said on social media, "The devastation we are experiencing is immense. My only consolation is that my babies will not be separated from each other and that they will be able to be with their other sisters."

Cliff Harshman, the father of the twins, claimed that his wife was not a monster: "This is completely out of character for her. It's an incredible event. We were getting her help, but something went wrong. My wife was not a monster." However, he could not hide his anger: "I am very angry. I am very upset with her for the decision she made."

Cliff, who was in California at the time of the incident, said he was able to say goodbye to his wife, but she did not respond.

In painful police call recordings, it was revealed that Harshman reported that his children had been shot. He said two of his daughters were in cribs, while the other two were in the bedrooms downstairs. The police explained that the officer wanted Harshman to stay on the phone until the officers arrived, but Harshman hung up, saying, "It's too late."

Harshman's friends noted that he had been struggling with postpartum depression. His friend Briana Baker said, "You can never know what people are battling in their minds. Tranyelle was not the monster that this tragedy showed. She was sweet, loving, and fun. Her children were the center of her life."
