The daughters of İbrahim Tuna, who lived alone in his home in Konarı village, called the village headman Mustafa Özşen, stating that they last spoke to their father on October 28 and had been unable to reach him for 3 days, asking him to check the house. The gendarmerie teams, deepening their investigations, took the statements of villagers in the presence of 2 public prosecutors who arrived at the scene.

HE CONFESSED TO COMMITTING THE MURDER

After villagers informed the teams that the elderly man's needs were met by Ayhan Aksoy, a mentally disabled individual from the same village, and that he had last come to the house, the teams detained Aksoy at his home in the Emek neighborhood of the district center in the middle of the night. During searches conducted at the suspect's home, 11,800 lira belonging to the elderly man and the keys to his house were also found. After being brought to the District Gendarmerie Command, Aksoy confessed that he had committed the murder. Following the necessary procedures, Ayhan Aksoy was sent to the Safranbolu Courthouse after a health check and was arrested by the court to which he was referred with a request for arrest after his statement to the prosecutor. Meanwhile, the funeral of 93-year-old İbrahim Tuna, who fell victim to this brutal murder, was held in his village and he was buried in the family cemetery after the funeral prayer performed in the afternoon.

Village headman Mustafa Özşen stated in a press conference that the suspect entered the house with a ladder around 8:20 AM on October 29, saying, "The person who killed him is someone we know and is mentally disabled. He entered through the balcony with a ladder and struck İbrahim Tuna on the head with a pumpkin, killing him. The victim was also from our village. He was not the kind of person who could do such a thing. He is mentally disabled." Özşen expressed that Tuna's daughters called him around 5:30 PM the previous day, saying, "We can't reach our father." He said, "I couldn't enter because the house was locked. I became suspicious when I saw the ladder. I brought a metal ladder with my council friend and entered the house. İbrahim was covered. When I opened it, I saw that his head had been beaten.
