It has been stated that Müslim Sarı and Berhan Şimşek will be candidates at the congress.

After the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the CHP, which made a critical decision, will hold an extraordinary congress on Sunday, April 6. It is expected that the party's General Chairman Özgür Özel will be the sole candidate. Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu announced that he would not run. Journalist Barış Yarkadaş made a striking claim on the Taksim Square program on TGRT News.

2 NAMES EMERGED

Yarkadaş stated that two names have come to the forefront in the preparations for candidacy for the chairmanship in the CHP during the congress process. He mentioned that one of them is former MP Müslim Sarı, and the other is Berhan Şimşek, who served as a CHP MP for a period. Yarkadaş said, "Müslim Sarı will likely announce his candidacy on Saturday. He has completed his preparations regarding this matter. A clear message regarding the congress process is expected from him."

BERHAN ŞİMŞEK SIGNALS CANDIDACY

Yarkadaş reported that Berhan Şimşek is also evaluating the candidacy issue and is in contact with some names in the party. However, there has not yet been an official statement from Şimşek.

"KILIÇDAROĞLU WOULD NOT HAVE ACCEPTED ANYWAY"

Barış Yarkadaş also made striking remarks regarding the stance of former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Yarkadaş stated, "Kılıçdaroğlu's words are not targeting İmamoğlu and his friends. If he had a stance against İmamoğlu, why would he go to visit him? Moreover, Kemal Bey would never have accepted being a trustee anyway," he said.

"518 DELEGATES WANT KILIÇDAROĞLU TO RUN"

Yarkadaş noted that 518 delegates in the CHP want Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to run, stating, "Bedri Ağaç is at the forefront of this team. He is a person with significant weight among the delegates. That’s why I highlighted the name Müslim Sarı. Tomorrow, a group of MPs will ask Kemal Bey to support the party council. However, according to the information I have obtained, it is said that Kemal Bey does not want to get involved in this matter either," he expressed.
