A 28-year-old woman living in England has lost her life after violently shaking her 4-month-old daughter, who suffered a brain hemorrhage. It was revealed that the mother did not take her baby to the doctor when she fainted. Additionally, it was discovered that the woman had arranged a fake DNA test to convince her ex-partner that he was the biological father of her daughter, which contained a misspelled letter.

28-year-old Melissa Wilband, living in England, caused her four-month-old baby Lexi Wilband to suffer a brain hemorrhage by violently shaking her at their home in Newent, Gloucestershire, in April 2020. Wilband's former partner, 31-year-old Jack Wheeler, was acquitted of charges of causing the child's death.

THE BABY DIED IN HOSPITAL

According to a report by the BBC, prosecutors stated that the bleeding in Lexi's brain was caused by violent shaking. Prosecutors suggested that these violent shakes may have occurred multiple times. Lexi passed away on April 18, 2020, at Bristol Children's Hospital, six days after she collapsed.

SHE DIDN'T EVEN TAKE HER TO THE DOCTOR

When her four-month-old daughter Lexi collapsed, the mother did not take the baby to the doctor. The prosecution suggested that Wilband may have deliberately missed appointments to prevent recognizing the health issues arising from Lexi's shaking. Additionally, it was revealed in court that Wilband had researched "baby shaking" on the internet.

FAKE DNA TEST REVEALED BY A SINGLE LETTER

Wilband also arranged a fake DNA test during her pregnancy to convince her former partner Jack Wheeler that he was Lexi's biological father. She presented Wheeler with a fake document claiming to be a paternity test, stating that he was the father. However, the document contained obvious errors, including the word "Father" being mistakenly written as "Farther," which revealed the truth. It was proven in court that Wilband had prepared this fake document to prevent Wheeler from knowing the truth.
