In the investigation regarding the murder of football player Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı in Ümraniye, the statement of producer Yalçınay Yıldız, who is considered one of the most critical witnesses, has emerged. Yıldız, who was in the same vehicle as Vahap Canbay and Kubilay Kundakçı at the time of the incident, shared striking details about the relationship between the parties and events leading up to the incident.
HE WAS LIVING IN THE SAME HOUSE WITH VAHAP AND ALEYNA
In his statement, Yıldız mentioned that he was a former friend of Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu and that he had been friends with Vahap Canbay and Kubilay Kundakçı for about 3-4 years. He also stated that he lived in the same house with Canbay and Kalaycıoğlu.
HE DESCRIBED THE TENSION BEFORE THE INCIDENT
Witness Yıldız also included developments that occurred the day before the incident in his statement. He reported that Vahap Canbay reacted emotionally when the allegation that Kalaycıoğlu was in a relationship with someone else came to light.
According to information obtained by Yunus Emre Kavak from Sabah; Yıldız's statement is as follows:
"On March 18, we agreed to record Aleyna's music in the studio. On March 19, Canbay heard from the cleaner that Aleyna was in a relationship with Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, and he cried over it.
"I ASKED ALEYNAA, SHE SAID 'I DON'T KNOW KADAYIFÇIOĞLU'
Since both of them were mutual friends, I called Aleyna. I asked Aleyna, 'Did you become lovers with Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu?' She replied, 'Don't be ridiculous, I don't know him.' After that, since I was going to record Aleyna's voice, I told Vahap, 'Come too, put your pride aside, talk to Aleyna.' At that time, Kubilay was also with us. He said, 'I'll come with you, and I'll talk to sister Aleyna.'
ALAATTİN KADAYIFÇIOĞLU'S STATEMENT
On the other hand, the statements taken from the suspects at the police station have also been obtained.
Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, who is said to have caused Kundakçı's death by firing a weapon, claimed in his statement that when they entered the street where Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu's studio was located with two vehicles to collect their belongings and dogs, they saw 3-4 people in a parked vehicle and felt uneasy about the situation.
Kadayıfçıoğlu alleged that he went to the vehicle to talk and tapped on the window with his ring, and that the person in the vehicle opened the door forcefully towards him, and he pushed the door back to close it.
Kadayıfçıoğlu claimed that the person who could not get out of the vehicle opened the window, and the person sitting in the front tried to hit him with both hands, and he unintentionally pointed his licensed gun at them to defend himself, and the gun went off during the struggle.
ALEYNA KALAYCIĞLU'S STATEMENT
Suspect Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu recounted the following in her statement:
"Alaattin hit the window. He started talking to Vahap, who opened the window. He said, 'Leave the girl alone.' When a dispute broke out, Alaattin extended the gun from the window. When Vahap held his hand, the gun went off. Then Alaattin returned to the vehicle. I was in shock. I panicked and started crying. Shortly after leaving the scene, they made me get out of the vehicle on the road. I then left in a taxi."
Kalaycıoğlu noted that she sometimes drove for Kundakçı, whom she met through her ex-boyfriend Vahap Canbay.
Kalaycıoğlu explained that Canbay had a music studio in Bağcılar and that the studio was shot at by a gang, after which her family did not allow Kundakçı to meet Canbay for a long time. She stated, "As far as I know, Kubilay has no criminal record, and he has no weapon. I have never seen him with a weapon. He is a pure and innocent child."
Kalaycıoğlu mentioned that she broke up with Canbay two weeks prior and that she met Kadayıfçıoğlu through her mother during that time, and their relationship began.
İZZET YILDIZHAN'S STATEMENT
Suspect singer İzzet Yıldızhan stated in his police statement that he was friends with the father of suspect Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, B. K.
Yıldızhan claimed that suspect M. K. called him and said that Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu was involved in an armed fight but did not provide any details, and he noted:
"During a phone call I had with B. K. during the day, he said he was in England, that he had heard something but did not know what it was, and that he would come to Turkey on the first flight. I also left Ankara in the evening and came to Istanbul. Later, I heard about such an incident on social media and read about it in the news. Afterward, when B. K. came to Turkey, we met by phone. In our conversation, B. K. said he would find his son Alaattin as soon as possible and turn him in to the police. I also advised him in the same direction."
