A 10-year-old boy named M.R.K., who tore off a label from a shelf in a chain store in Bursa and set fire to paper towels, has been placed under state protection and relocated to a care facility.
A child who went to a branch of a chain supermarket on Fatih Sultan Mehmet Street in the Nilüfer district tore off a label from the shelf behind products made of napkins and set it on fire with a lighter in his hand. After that, the child left the burning label in the section where paper towels were located and ran out of the supermarket. The towels caught fire in a short time.
FIRE BROKE OUT IN THE SUPERMARKET
Upon noticing the situation, the employees alerted the authorities, and fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished quickly by the fire department. Some products were damaged in the fire. The moments when the child entered the supermarket and started the fire were captured by the workplace's security camera. M.R.K., whose identity was identified from the footage, was found the same day in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood.

An investigation has been launched by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident. It was learned that M.R.K., who had previously been involved in a fire that broke out in a grassy area in the Bağlarbaşı neighborhood, was taken under state protection and placed in a care home. The child's family is also being investigated, and psychological support is being provided to the child.
