The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation has been initiated ex officio regarding the allegation that the families of those who died in the Bolu Grand Kartal Hotel fire were contacted and mocked via social media.
In a new statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that a detention order has been issued for a total of 5 individuals, and it was stated that new detentions may occur with further findings.

The statement included the following; "An ex officio investigation has been initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident of 'the families of our citizens who lost their lives in the Bolu Kartalkaya hotel fire being contacted and insulted, and the memory of the deceased being insulted' that has come to the public's attention on social media."
As part of the investigation, instructions have been given to the Cyber Crime Department of the Istanbul Police Department, and search, seizure, and detention orders have been issued for 4 suspects identified in different provinces and 1 suspect in Istanbul. The analysis of video and audio recordings identified from open sources is ongoing, and it is assessed that new findings and new detentions will occur based on this.
