In the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep, a retaining wall of a site collapsed due to heavy rainfall. While there were no casualties, it was determined that 3 vehicles were damaged.
After heavy rainfall in Gaziantep, the retaining wall of a four-block site collapsed. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, while three vehicles were trapped under the wall, and the four blocks were evacuated as a precaution.
The incident occurred in the Bülbülzade neighborhood of the Şahinbey district. According to reports, the retaining wall of the four-block site collapsed with a loud noise after the heavy rainfall.
THE RETAINING WALL COLLAPSED ONTO VEHICLES
Residents of the site, who experienced great panic after the incident, rushed outside in fear. Following a report made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, police, health, fire, UMKE, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene.
Teams that arrived at the scene secured the area and conducted an investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that no citizens were trapped under the collapsed wall, but three vehicles were found to be damaged after being trapped under the wall.
A CITIZEN DESCRIBED THE MOMENTS
A citizen named Ahmet Tiryaki, who described the moments of the incident, stated that the building collapsed with a loud noise and said they thought it was an earthquake. He mentioned that after the incident, they rushed outside and expressed that three vehicles were trapped under the collapsed wall.
After the incident, the site was secured, and the four blocks were evacuated as a precaution. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
