A heartbreaking tragedy emerged from a terrible traffic accident in Orhangazi district of Bursa. Motorcycle rider Mehmet Koparan (31), who collided head-on with a light commercial vehicle, lost his 5-day battle for life in the hospital. It was revealed that the grieving family had also buried Mehmet Koparan's sister in a motorcycle accident 11 years ago.
THROWN INTO OLIVE GROVE: SURVIVED ONLY 5 DAYS
The accident occurred on May 31 at around 12:00 on the coastal road at the entrance of Gölyaka neighborhood in Orhangazi district. According to information obtained, the motorcycle with license plate 16 CAF 809, driven by Mehmet Koparan, collided head-on with a light commercial vehicle with license plate 51 AAL 380, driven by Ahmet N. (70), coming from the opposite direction. Due to the force of the collision, the motorcycle was thrown into an olive grove by the roadside, and the driver was seriously injured. After initial intervention by health teams dispatched to the scene upon notification, Koparan was taken to Bursa City Hospital, where he lost his life after a 5-day struggle.
HEARTBREAKING SIMILARITY FROM 11 YEARS AGO
It was learned that the family, devastated by the heartbreaking news from the hospital, had experienced a similar tragedy in the past. It emerged that Mehmet Koparan's sister, Aslı Koparan, also fell victim to a motorcycle accident in 2015 when she was just 21, just like her brother.
SISTER ALSO DIED IN HOSPITAL
It was reported that sister Aslı Koparan, 11 years ago, was traveling on a motorcycle driven by her friend Ömercan Taşdelen in Bayramiç district of Çanakkale when they collided with a car and she was seriously injured. Just like her brother Mehmet, sister Koparan was taken to the hospital after the accident and fought for her life, but it was learned that she died in the hospital where she was treated 2 days later. The pain of the two siblings who shared the same fate plunged the family living in Sölöz neighborhood of Orhangazi district and their relatives into mourning.
