D.E (46), who was traveling on Marmaray in Maltepe, spoke after the attack he suffered in front of his children. Unable to overcome the shock of the incident, D.E. could not hold back his tears during the interview. The father, who said he thought most about his children at that moment, had fractures in his nose.
"PLEASE DON'T COME ANYMORE"
D.E. broke down in tears while telling journalists about the incident in front of his house. Struggling to speak, D.E. choked on his words. Crying, D.E. said, "This is the fifth, sixth time, I'm tired of it. Please don't come anymore."
"I WARNED THE LADY BECAUSE I COULDN'T PASS IN FRONT OF THE DOOR"
Assaulted D.E. stated, "While I was getting on the train with my children, I warned a lady because I couldn't pass in front of the door. I might have seemed a bit harsh. But after all, I am trying to pass with my two children through a narrow door. I said, 'Why are you stopping here, please open the door so we can pass, there is no point in stopping here. The train is empty after all.' Then, he said, 'Why don't you pass from there, brother?' I asked, why should I pass from there? Why should I take this risk by holding one of my children here and keeping another outside?"
"GET DOWN AND SEE WHAT I WILL DO"
D.E. said, "I got on from Bostancı, while heading towards Küçükyalı, you already reach Küçükyalı in 2 minutes after 15 seconds. A man who approached the door saw that the girl was upset and wanted to get off. 'Look, you spoke loudly to the girl.' But until that moment, I had talked to the girl. During the time I was talking, no one intervened. Since he saw the girl's face, he turned back again. Then he said, 'Get down, I will talk to you.' I said, 'Get down and come see what I will do.' I don't want to get down, I have my children with me. If you are going to do something, come, I will get off at Süreyya Beach. My wife is there, I will give my children to her. I don't want this kind of talk in front of my children," he said.
While recounting the incident in tears, D.E. said, "After that, the gentleman behind got involved in the incident. The lady in front couldn't see the issue directly. She said to that gentleman: 'Why are you bringing up the issue now, it is closed, it is over. Why did you bring it up?' She confronted the woman this time. The woman behind started to speak, the gentleman in the blue t-shirt started to shout. Normally, the other man was about to get off, but he came back again. While I was talking to the one in blue, he pushed me. Of course, I am holding my children," he said.
Providing information about his children, D.E. said, "The children are fine, thank God. Social services came, they talked to the children. They seem to be doing well for now, they are trying to get it out of their minds," he expressed.
