In the Pazar district of Rize, a jeep whose driver lost control flipped over, crossed into the opposite lane, and fell onto another moving jeep, resulting in 1 death and 7 injuries.
One person died and seven were injured as a result of an accident in Rize.
ROLLOVER JEEP LANDS ON TOP OF ONCOMING JEEP
The accident occurred around 4:00 PM on the Black Sea Coastal Road in Pazar district. The jeep with license plate 53 HG 048, driven by Yadigar Kasarcı (45), which was traveling from Rize towards Artvin, lost control, rapidly climbed the median, crashed into metal barriers, rolled over, and crossed into the opposite lane. The airborne vehicle landed on top of the jeep with license plate 53 ADF 189, driven by Eren Erkılıç (40). Upon notification from bystanders, medical, fire, police, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.
BOTH VEHICLES TURNED INTO PILES OF SCRAP METAL
The drivers, along with passengers Mustafa Taha K., Birgül K., Hilmi Tayanç K., Doğu E., Gözde E., and Yasemin M., were extracted from the vehicles, which had been reduced to scrap metal, and taken by ambulance to Kaçkar State Hospital. Despite all efforts by doctors, the critically injured driver Yadigar Kasarcı could not be saved. It was reported that the other 7 injured individuals were not in life-threatening condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
