The Turkish Grand National Assembly's Petition Commission received hundreds of interesting applications, including proposals for determining the minimum wage on an hourly and regional basis, granting retirement rights to women who have been married for 25 years, imposing fines on those who throw cigarette butts on the ground, and sterilizing drivers who block traffic for celebrations.
The TBMM Petition Committee has made decisions on applications received from citizens. Among the requests recently submitted to the committee were interesting petitions.
A citizen who applied to the Petition Committee requested that the right to unpaid leave for working mothers be extended to three years.
A citizen from Istanbul requested the expropriation of vehicles belonging to drivers who block roads for celebrations and use firearms, the sterilization of these drivers, and a certain fee to be charged for the time spent by law enforcement agencies.
REQUEST FOR DEPRECIATION PAY FOR WORKING MARRIED WOMEN
A citizen who applied to the committee requested that women who have been married for 25 years be granted retirement rights, that the retirement age for working married women be lowered, and that these individuals be given depreciation pay. Another citizen requested that a regulation be made to prevent mentally and physically unhealthy individuals from marrying and having children, complaining about others' marriages.
A citizen who complained that officials always created obstacles in his sister's marriage and child registration processes requested the implementation of an evaluation system or form for officials regarding their behavior. Another citizen's expectation from the Committee was to make it mandatory to investigate individuals' income and assets along with marriage applications.
"MINIMUM WAGE SHOULD BE DETERMINED HOURLY AND BY REGIONS"
A citizen from the Salihli district of Manisa proposed that picnicking and barbecuing be banned nationwide for 5 years to prevent forest fires. A citizen who made a proposal regarding the minimum wage requested that the minimum wage be determined hourly and by regions.
A citizen who complained that ambiguous expressions in job advertisements caused time loss and abuse suggested the implementation of a regulation containing the rules to be followed when job advertisements are published.
"POPULATION SHOULD BE CONTROLLED"
A citizen from Istanbul complained about managements that demand exorbitant site and apartment fees. Another citizen, who complained about the population increase due to migration in Istanbul, requested that the population be controlled.
"4 WRONG ANSWERS SHOULD NOT CANCEL 1 CORRECT ANSWER IN KPSS"
A citizen from Erzincan, complaining about the duration of the KPSS, requested an extension of the time and the removal of the rule that wrong answers cancel correct ones. In a petition submitted from Diyarbakır, a citizen complained about cigarette butts thrown on the ground and suggested that fines be imposed on those who throw cigarette butts.
A citizen who wanted to donate 5,000 lira to the Defense Industry Support Fund requested that the Committee share the Fund's IBAN information with him. Another citizen requested that motorcycles entering areas closed to vehicle traffic be identified and penalized.
