It was reported that the fish is approximately 10 meters long and weighs 2 tons. Fishermen in Gaza stated that the size of the fish is extraordinary and that such an event has not occurred in years. The giant fish also became a source of joy for the people of Gaza, especially for children.
THE SPECIES OF THE WASHED ASHORE FISH
Some sources suggested that the fish washed ashore is "Mola Mola" (Ocean Sunfish), one of the largest bony fish species in the world. Dr. Adi Barash, the Director of the Israeli Sharks NGO, stated that the washed ashore fish is a whale shark.
