The Women's National Volleyball Team defeated Latvia 3-0 in the first match of Group A of the Trendyol 2026 European Women's Volleyball Championship.

Türkiye was the side that started the match effectively. With Elif Şahin's service ace, the difference increased to 5 points (11-6), prompting Latvia to take a timeout. The star and crescent team, which took control of the game against an opponent struggling to counter Vargas's attacks, continued to widen the gap: 19-12. Playing comfortably in the final stretch, Türkiye won the first set 25-17 and took a 1-0 lead.
The national team started the second set with a 7-0 run. Latvia managed to reduce the deficit to 6 points with effective serves and attacks later in the set: 19-13. Taking control with the support of the fans in the continuation of the set, the star and crescent team sealed the set with a middle attack from Zehra Güneş, winning it 25-16 to make it 2-0. Türkiye, which continued its effective performance, also won the third set 25-16 and emerged victorious from the match 3-0.
