The Chief of the General Staff of Russia, Valery Gerasimov, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the Kursk region has been completely captured. President Putin congratulated the victorious military units, stating, "The Kiev regime's adventure has ended in complete failure."
Chief of the General Staff of Russia, Valery Gerasimov, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the Kursk region has been completely liberated from the Ukrainian army.
According to a statement from the Kremlin, Gerasimov reported to Putin that the Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the Kursk region have been completely defeated.
KURSK REGION COMPLETELY CAPTURED
Gerasimov, who reported that the last settlement named Gornal, which was under the control of the Ukrainian army, has been liberated, stated, "Thus, the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that occupied the Kursk region have been completely defeated."
Gerasimov claimed that the Ukrainian army has lost more than 76,000 soldiers and 7,700 military equipment in the Kursk region since August 2024.
Sharing information that North Korean soldiers are also involved in the conflicts in the Kursk region alongside the Russian army, Gerasimov said, "These soldiers provided significant support for the defeat of the Ukrainian forces entering the region in accordance with the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement established between our countries. North Korean soldiers demonstrated their high level of professionalism alongside Russian soldiers."
Gerasimov reported that mine clearance operations are ongoing in the region, stating, "Efforts to establish a security zone at the border with Ukraine's Sumi region are ongoing, four settlements have been captured, and approximately 90 square kilometers are under control."
PUTIN CONGRATULATES THE SOLDIERS
President Putin congratulated the victorious military units, stating, "The adventure of the Kiev regime has ended in complete failure."
Noting that the losses suffered by the Ukrainian army will reflect across the entire combat front, Putin stated, "The complete defeat of the enemy in the Kursk border region creates conditions for our units to carry out successful actions in other important areas of the front and brings the defeat of the Neonazi regime even closer."
The Ukrainian army had entered the Kursk region in southern Russia on August 6 last year, opening a new front in the war. In the region, where fierce clashes with the Russian army took place, the Ukrainian army quickly advanced and took control of an area of 1,268 square kilometers in a short time. After a month, the Russian army had begun to gradually reclaim the settlements under the control of the Ukrainian army.
UKRAINE: OUR OPERATION CONTINUES
In a statement from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the remarks of Chief of the General Staff of Russia, Valery Gerasimov, regarding the complete liberation of the Kursk region from the Ukrainian army were evaluated.
The statement indicated that the announcement from Russia regarding the end of the conflicts in the Kursk region does not reflect the truth, stating, "The defense operation of the Ukrainian defense forces continues in some districts of the Kursk region."
The statement emphasized that the situation in the region is severe, and it was reported that Ukrainian forces continue to protect their positions by opening intense fire against the Russian army.
The statement noted that there is no encirclement threat for the Ukrainian army in the region, adding, "Active operations conducted by our forces in some districts of the Belgorod region, which is part of the Russian Federation, are also ongoing."
