U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Rodriguez, who succeeded Maduro in Venezuela. In his statement, he said, "I will take you too, you will pay a heavier price."
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodriguez could "pay a heavier price than Maduro." Trump stated, "I will take you too, you will pay a heavier price."
In an interview with The Atlantic magazine, Trump said that this would be inevitable if she does not do the right thing.
OPENLY THREATENED
Speaking about the attack in Venezuela, Trump threatened Rodriguez, who succeeded Maduro. In his statement, Trump said, "I will take you too, you will pay a heavier price. She could pay a heavier price than Maduro." Trump clearly stated that he would not tolerate Rodríguez's defiance of the U.S. military intervention that led to Maduro's capture, pointing to Nicolás Maduro, who is currently imprisoned in New York.
Trump also said, "You know, the reconstruction there, call it regime change if you want, is better than the current situation. It can't be worse."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The U.S. had abducted President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores to the U.S. "to be prosecuted" during its attacks on Venezuela.
Vice President Rodriguez stated that her country would not bow to the U.S. and that Maduro was the only leader of Venezuela.
The Venezuelan Supreme Court announced that the name to temporarily take the seat vacated by Maduro was Delcy Rodriguez. In a press conference held after the raid, Trump mentioned that Rodríguez had expressed her willingness to work with the U.S., which would allow her to "temporarily govern" Venezuela.
