Social media influencer Merve Taşkın, who was taken into custody on February 14 as part of an investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of 'Obscenity' due to a post made on her social media account, was released after a judicial control decision was issued for house arrest.

After the completion of the investigation against Taşkın, a lawsuit was filed against her with a request for up to 3 years in prison for the crime of 'Obscenity.'

Merve Taşkın was taken into custody by the teams of the Istanbul Public Security Branch's Moral Bureau due to her post on social media, which included the statement, "I can be a girlfriend for those who are alone on February 14 for 'dinner.'
